Indie Film Music Contest W24 Take Care - Re-scored by Holly Marsden - Original Film by Sune Sorensen

Today, I am posting something much different from what I usually post. I mainly only post violin covers on this channel but something else that I love to do is compose original music, so I decided to enter the Indie Film Music Contest. If you’d like to vote for me in the contest, please like this video I have never practiced scoring original music for a specific live action video or short film before so it is definitely something new, composing for and creating an orchestra virtually and setting the atmosphere, but I have really enjoyed taking part and setting this short clip to new music! I hope you enjoy it. I do not own the copyright to this video clip. This is an original re-score for the film and I only created the music in this video. Original film by Sune Sorensen. Short write-up about the aim of the music: It starts off meaning to sound nostalgic with the opening chords played by the strings as he looks back on his life and achievements. People think he is a bit clumsy and that the lifting weight task is a bit pointless, which is why the music is very 'stop-start' and sounds a bit comedic. As he then looks for hope and inspiration which is heard through the horns and similar chords as the beginning as he reflects. The music is then more hopeful and uplifting and fast paced as he tries again. The motif which slightly appeared through the piece develops into the final melody, first with many instruments for harmony as Christmas is a big moment for the little girl but then it simplifies to just flute and oboe as it is a much simpler moment for her Grandad, the special memory between them.
